BEDFORD, IOWA — The 3rd Annual Great ARS Shootout, organized by Advanced Restoration Service, was held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Clarinda Country Club. Each year keeps getting better. Area golfers and corporate sponsors contributed $1,620 for local fire departments. We raised 23 percent more than the proceeds raised for firefighters at last year’s tournament.

The number of fire departments that benefited from the tournament also increased to nine this year from five last year.

“We are so pleased with the turn out and with the money raised for local fire departments,” says Rob Villars, President, Advanced Restoration Services, LLC. “A lot of area fire departments can now purchase some equipment that had been beyond their budgets. Speaking for everyone who participated in our tournament, it’s a good feeling to be able to help out.”Blue Skies and 79-degree temperature - Advanced Restoration Services golf benefit

Blue Skies and 79-degree temperatures made for a perfect day of golf. The support from area communities was phenomenal. Fifty-four players and over 20 corporate sponsors had a share in this year’s benefit, both figures significantly exceeding last year’s tournament results.

All entry fees were donated to local fire departments as designated by each entrant. The $1,620 raised went to nine local fire departments: Bedford $480, Clarinda $540, Coin $120, Essex $120, Gravity $60.00, Lenox $90, Red Oak $30, Shenandoah $120 and Villisca $60.
